The dawn of man gives way to dusk Our golden age now left to rust Unnoticed by those we’ve left behind And for how far we have come There’s progress to be undone Opportunities to cast aside Ashes give rise to fleeting existence An empire becomes a prison The reign of man a flickering light The gift of life so freely given Death prophesied as no one listened Our own shadow blotting out our skies As all look on, the horizon will fade Poised to swallow a world gone to waste By this hunger, our kind is erased And those to come are, for a moment, sustained As all look on, the ground will give way Poised to crumble from beneath the world’s weight By this weakness, our path leads astray And those who follow are led to their grave Worlds left empty Marred by the tracks of all who wandered too far Gods left hungry Our prayers turned to doubts, our flesh to a scar Turning their teeth on one another As our belief Gives way to wonder Turning their teeth on one another As our belief Gives way to wonder Worlds left empty Memories soon lost to time Worlds left empty With none to replace our kind

A crown is dawned Heads are bowed beneath it's weight And every knee is bent In reverence and decay The rot is taking hold In chapels built of blighted bones Sanctuary in the weak and the old A god born, as foretold Of that by which we’re overthrown Laying claim from within every soul Baptized in the flood of a virus Anointed by its dregs While acolytes cloaked in putrid pelts Collect each tithe of flesh Redemption for the pious Whose faith is made to spread Those who would offer up themselves And all their dearest friends A crown is dawned As the weeping congregate Their every tear communion To ever-thirsting plagues A world is drowned In these oceans of decay Our every prayer falls silent As we are washed away Praise sung by those we've silenced Through lungs breathing their last They stagger and they falter through carrion and ash The air on which we choke From pulpits redefined as thrones Painting the lies that spill forth from tender throats With every bitter stroke Death sentences redressed as poems Binding together those whom our doctrines broke Slaves, now, to our messiah The age of man has passed Now piled upon the altar In a putrid blackened mass Slaves, now, to their defilers The faithful now the chaff Their deaths to be exalted Their prayers bring their collapse A crown is dawned Heads are bowed beneath its weight And every knee is bent In reverence and decay The faith by which we’re led In every ragged, labored breath Evangelism in diseases that we spread The devils we reject Deliver us from welcome death Resuming cycles we would have brought to rest A world is drowned In these oceans of decay Our every prayer falls silent As we're washed away A king is crowned As a kingdom’s laid to waste Our every prayer is answered With the ending of an age

The abyss Has opened again To join the tired chant As we lift Voice in unison Call plague upon the land The abyss Has opened again To a world scattered like ants As we lift Wings in unison Blot out the dawn of man Autonomy had so long led us astray To wander ’til we were extinct Intuition, then, to instinct gave way Our lives, our purpose now succinct No longer, from then on, would we be enslaved By these ambitions we called king Our knees worn to the marrow, we continued to pray Forgetting what it means to think Our bodies are many, our mind is one And we hunger for what keeps you alive Our ascension will eclipse the rising sun And through your sacrifice, your famine, we thrive The abyss Has opened again To join the tired chant As we lift Voice in unison Call plague upon the land By his guidance, by his hand We’ll blot out the dawn of man By his guidance, by his hand We’ll blot out the dawn of man By the will to which our minds are the throne We’ll work, always, to ruin the place we call home Satisfy the hunger that we could never call our own Offerings so willingly and so often made Amounting only to a single piece Of all the sacrifice through which the price is paid Our blood communion for a thief No longer, from then on, would we be the same Our kind resigned to take its leave To crawl along empty horizons we razed Forgetting all we once achieved Our bodies are many, our mind is one A plague upon the world by which we’re conceived Our fall will echo for ages to come Always unheard in a space left empty Our bodies are many, our mind is one A parasite whose host has nothing left to eat We are the famine by which worlds are undone The abyss Has opened again To join the tired chant As we lift Voice in unison Call plague upon the land The abyss Has opened again To a world scattered like ants As we lift Wings in unison Blot out the dawn of man

"So much misery...Man against man, they kill each other..." "They have no faith. I used to think the world would change, but it hasn't." "We'll tear your soul apart."

The split The rupture The unraveling to come From the mouth of god now fall The mind, the teeth, the tongue The sins The rapture The threat of the impending flood Answers to riddles he painted across the blinding sun Mocking the failure of his own creation To see the meaning of it all Keeping a distance while the whispers still reach us Spreading gospel of our faults Crack our facade, weaken our foundation Create illusions of shelter when ours begins to fall We stitched the glimpses of our creator’s failures into the portrait of man Portrait of man We made a god of a mirage when fate was in our hands Within our own homeland, we wander as nomads With another’s tongue we speak Chasing the paths left by our own tracks Murmuring of what is left to see We’re of one mind; detached, in decline Unwilling to accept We can’t survive what’s left to find A world left for dead We can’t survive What’s left to find A world we’ve left for dead We've left for dead Mocking the promise of all we could be With words we’ve spoken, never thought Heads in the clouds, our kingdoms sunken beneath us Our minds astray, our bodies rot Broken, bred to spread our weakness That some lines are never crossed We made a god of a mirage When fate slipped from our grip With only thought, prisons were wrought His words trapped us within Tricks of the light we called divine Following ’til our time’s end We can’t survive what’s left to find A world we’ve left for dead We can’t survive what’s left to find A world we’ve left for dead We can’t survive what’s left to find A world we’ve left for dead We can’t survive what’s left to find A world we’ve left for dead We can’t survive what’s left to find A world we’ve left for dead We can’t survive what’s left to find A world we’ve left for dead

The rot begins to spread On the winds of ragged breath Survival now inspired from deep within Sunsets flee overhead ‘Til they fall through open necks Feeding fears that bleed through fragile skin The hunger seeps from underneath a veil that’s wearing thin Baring its teeth, prepared to feast on the souls of our kin An inspiration yet unknown to us all Until our wills became as one The cycle we preserve in man’s rise and fall A gift to all that would see us undone Through sacrifice we will serve our own demise Sanctuary in the loss of our lives Through every tithe, flesh alone can’t pay the price For unworthy are our bodies and minds All devoured by what cannot be observed Laid to rest in a world beyond this earth All devoured by the hunger we have served Laid to waste in the ash of lessons never learned Revelations we have spurned Through sacrifice we will serve our own demise Sanctuary in the loss of our lives Through every tithe, flesh alone can’t pay the price For unworthy are our bodies and minds Annihilation that encompasses all Fading the line that lies between The blind sensation of what we never saw And the facade that it was buried beneath Never to recognize what we’ve truly lost The age of man gives way to the age of ghosts Satisfying their undying urge Through sacrifice we will serve our own demise Sanctuary in the loss of our lives Through every tithe, flesh alone can’t pay the price For unworthy are our bodies and minds All devoured by what cannot be observed Laid to rest in a world beyond this earth
